Screentogif is an application for Windows that allows you to record actions on your desktop and turn these recordings into animated GIF files. With the program, the user can easily generate files in this format by simply selecting the capture area, video quality and FPS (frames per second) and starting a recording. The app will be useful for our technicians to get a better idea of where the problem originated, a possibility that a screenshot doesn’t offer.

GIF Screen Recorder is very simple and easy to use, even though it’s all in English. Because of this, it only takes a few clicks for the user to be able to record their screen activity and create an animated GIF.

Below is a short tutorial on how to use it

After downloading it from the link provided by the technician, open the folder where you saved the download and run the Screentogif file.

After running the program and clicking “record”, you will be redirected to the screen where you can position the window where the error message is appearing.

By hovering over the sides, you can resize it. After that, click on “save”, as shown by the blue arrow, following the same steps you did that generated the error, which is why you opened the ticket.

As in the example below, an error generated by RDP. Then click on “stop”, as shown.

After a few seconds, another screen will open where you can see the recorded clip.

Once we’ve got the clip right, let’s save it as shown in the image below.

Click on save as.

Choose the folder where you want to save, by default the “Downloads” folder, and click save.

Your file will be there. From there, follow the same steps to export it to the ticket, as if it were a printout.
