How to size your project
Two things decide: memory and library size. Machine learning (smart search, faces, OCR) asks for 6 GB at least and the project recommends 8; with 4 GB Immich runs without it. Those jobs run on the server's CPU, so a large library takes time to index, and the library itself takes disk in /opt/immich/library.

About Immich
Immich backs up and manages the photos and videos from your phone: the app sends what you shoot to your server, and the web interface shows a timeline, albums, a map and sharing. It suits keeping a family's or a team's library on a server of your own.
Here it arrives as version 3.2.2, with the project's own stack (server, machine learning, PostgreSQL with VectorChord and Valkey) behind HTTPS. The administrator is created before the page is public, and administrator sign-up is closed right after; the login is your account's e-mail and the password comes in the order e-mail. Smart search, face recognition and OCR are only switched on for servers with 6 GB or more.
On the phone, install the Immich app, enter the server's address and turn backup on. Photos live in /opt/immich/library, the folder you need to copy in your own backup. New users go in under Administration > Users, and outgoing e-mail is set up in Notification Settings.

Your chosen image installed, the plan’s resources and a panel to manage the server. Administrative access is provided after provisioning.
Configure for your business
The e-mail carries the address, the administrator's login and password, and says whether machine learning was switched on. Sign in on the web, go through the first-run settings and connect the phone app to the same address. Backing up the photo folder, outgoing e-mail and new users are up to you.
