Pick the right plan for Ghost

Every plan includes public IPv4 and IPv6, NVMe storage and a 1 Gbps uplink. Click one to reach the checkout with everything filled in.

How to size your project

Ghost runs on Node.js with MySQL 8.4, and MySQL alone reached about 490 MB in the prototype; the minimum plan has 2 GB. Load grows with audience, with the number of members and with the size of the newsletters you send. The first start, which creates the tables, takes a few minutes on a small plan.

About Ghost

Ghost is a publishing platform for blogs, newsletters and membership sites: you write in its own editor, pick a theme and send the newsletter by e-mail to your members, with open content or content for subscribers only. It suits independent publishers who want their own site and their own list.

Here it arrives as version 6.65.0 of the official image, with MySQL 8.4 and HTTPS. The owner is created before the site goes public, with your account's e-mail (or admin@ and the server's name, if Ghost refuses the address) and a generated password, which comes in the order e-mail. Code verification when signing in from a new browser is off, because the server does not send e-mail yet.

E-mail is the first job: password resets, invitations, member sign-in links and newsletters depend on your SMTP, in /opt/ghost/ghost.env. Once sending works, turn the verification back on. The social web (ActivityPub) goes through Ghost's hosted service, ap.ghost.org, and can be switched off in Settings.

Software features

  • Ghost 6.65.0 from the official image, with MySQL 8.4 LTS and HTTPS
  • Owner created through the setup API before the site goes public
  • Admin at /ghost/, signing in with your account's e-mail
  • Newsletters and members area, sent through the SMTP you configure
  • New-device code verification off until e-mail works
  • Social web (ActivityPub) through ap.ghost.org, switchable off in Settings
  • Images and themes in the ghost_content volume, database in a MySQL volume
  • Upgrade by changing the image tag; Ghost migrates the database on start

What your Ghost gets at Master da Web

Manage infrastructure from one panel: security, recovery, connectivity and growth. Check prices and availability when configuring your server.

  • Snapshots

Take a snapshot of Ghost before a risky update and roll back to it with one click, without reinstalling anything.

  • Automatic backups

Scheduled copies of the whole server, kept off the host. Restore the complete Ghost whenever you need to.

  • Managed firewall

Rules by port and source, applied from the panel, no iptables editing. Open only what Ghost needs.

  • Security Center

Continuous external scanning of your server, with findings prioritised and the fix spelled out for each one.

  • Private network (VPC)

Connect Ghost to databases and other servers over an isolated network with nothing exposed to the internet. With a VPN Gateway for remote access.

01

With your VPS

Your chosen image installed, the plan’s resources and a panel to manage the server. Administrative access is provided after provisioning.

02

Configure for your business

The e-mail carries the site address, the admin address (/ghost/), the login and the password. The first job is e-mail sending: put your SMTP's mail__ lines in /opt/ghost/ghost.env and turn device verification back on. Your own domain, backups and updates are up to you.

03

Expand when you need to

Backups, snapshot capacity, DDoS protection, private networking and other features are available as you need them. Check prices and availability when configuring your server.
