About Umami
Umami is an open-source web analytics tool: it shows visits, most-viewed pages, sources, countries and devices for one site or several, in a web dashboard, with the data in a PostgreSQL of your own. The project presents itself as an alternative to Google Analytics and is used to follow traffic to your own sites or your clients'.
At Master da Web, Umami 3.4 arrives with PostgreSQL 17 behind Caddy over HTTPS. On its first run Umami creates the user admin with the default password umami; the installer replaces that password with a generated one and confirms the default no longer works before the page goes public. Two-factor authentication can be switched on in the profile, and Umami's telemetry to umami.is is off.
To collect, add the site under Websites, open its tracking code and paste the script, with your data-website-id, into the head of your pages. The script is served from https://your-host/script.js and collection arrives at /api/send.

Configure for your business
The generated password and the address come in the order e-mail; the user is admin. Add the site under Websites and paste the tracking script into the head of your pages: without it, nothing is collected. A domain of your own for the script, the script name, database backups and version upgrades are yours to handle.
