About MySQL 9.7 LTS
MySQL is one of the most widely used open-source relational databases in the world, maintained by Oracle. It powers WordPress, Joomla and Drupal sites, online stores, ERPs and a large share of web applications, and offers transactions, views, stored procedures, triggers, partitioning, replication and JSON columns.
On Master da Web the server comes with MySQL 9.7 LTS, Oracle's own MySQL Community Server, maintained until April 2034 and installed natively on Debian 13 from MySQL's official repository. The repository is pinned to the 9.7 series, so patch releases arrive with a normal system update, with no version jumps you did not ask for. The InnoDB buffer pool is sized to the server's RAM at installation, and the default character set is utf8mb4.
The database accepts remote connections on port 3306, always over TLS, with a self-signed certificate you can replace with your own. Administration goes through the dbadmin account, whose generated password is sent in the welcome e-mail; root only works locally. A starter database named app is already created, and phpMyAdmin 5.2.3 runs over HTTPS, with an automatic certificate, at the server's address.
