Pick the right plan for Eclipse Mosquitto

Every plan includes public IPv4 and IPv6, NVMe storage and a 1 Gbps uplink. Click one to reach the checkout with everything filled in.

How to size your project

Mosquitto is a lean broker, and the 1 GB plan is the platform floor for this image. Consumption grows with the number of connected clients, the message rate, retained messages and persistent sessions. Start at the minimum, watch memory and disk, and move up a plan when usage asks for it.

About Eclipse Mosquitto

Eclipse Mosquitto is an open source MQTT broker: devices, sensors and applications publish messages to topics, and whoever subscribes to a topic receives them. It sits at the centre of IoT networks, telemetry and automation.

Here Mosquitto 2.1.2 runs in Docker, from the official image, behind Caddy, and never accepts anonymous connections: the admin account is created before the broker starts. MQTT uses TLS on port 8883, with the certificate Caddy obtains for the hostname; port 1883, unencrypted, does not exist. MQTT over WebSockets is served at wss://hostname/mqtt, and a read-only dashboard, behind a login, at https://hostname.

The password arrives in the order e-mail. Connect by the server's name, create one account per device and, if you want to limit topics, set up the ACL plugin: by default, every account can publish and subscribe to any topic.

Software features

  • Mosquitto 2.1.2 in Docker, on the official eclipse-mosquitto image, pinned
  • No anonymous access: the admin account exists before the broker starts
  • MQTT over TLS on port 8883, with Caddy's certificate for the hostname
  • No plain-text MQTT: port 1883 is not offered
  • MQTT over WebSockets at wss://hostname/mqtt, for browser clients
  • Mosquitto's read-only dashboard over HTTPS, behind a login
  • Retained messages and persistent sessions survive restarts
  • One account per device with mosquitto_passwd, reloaded by SIGHUP

What your Eclipse Mosquitto gets at Master da Web

Manage infrastructure from one panel: security, recovery, connectivity and growth. Check prices and availability when configuring your server.

  • Snapshots

Take a snapshot of Eclipse Mosquitto before a risky update and roll back to it with one click, without reinstalling anything.

  • Automatic backups

Scheduled copies of the whole server, kept off the host. Restore the complete Eclipse Mosquitto whenever you need to.

  • Managed firewall

Rules by port and source, applied from the panel, no iptables editing. Open only what Eclipse Mosquitto needs.

  • Security Center

Continuous external scanning of your server, with findings prioritised and the fix spelled out for each one.

  • Private network (VPC)

Connect Eclipse Mosquitto to databases and other servers over an isolated network with nothing exposed to the internet. With a VPN Gateway for remote access.

  • DDoS protection

Volumetric attack mitigation for your Eclipse Mosquitto server. Check protection options and prices when ordering.

Ready infrastructure, with the freedom to configure your application your way.

01

With your VPS

Your chosen image installed, the plan’s resources and a panel to manage the server. Administrative access is provided after provisioning.

02

Configure for your business

The e-mail carries the MQTT TLS address, the WebSocket one, the dashboard URL and the admin user's password. Connect clients by the hostname, create one account per device and, if you need to separate topics, enable the ACL plugin in mosquitto.conf. Volume backups and monitoring are left to you.

03

Expand when you need to

Backups, snapshot capacity, DDoS protection, private networking and other features are available as you need them. Check prices and availability when configuring your server.

You administer the system and application, including updates and data. For help with configuration or management, talk to our team about the scope of support.
