Servers and personal computers are generally configured to set up the network card using the DHCP protocol. In this tutorial we teach you how to change DHCP to static IP.
Press the Windows key + R and type the command“cmd“
At the command prompt, type the command“ipconfig“.
Your IPv4, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway information will be displayed. Keep this screen open as we will use this information to configure the network adapter statically.
Go to the Control Panel, then select the“Network and Internet” option.
Select the“Network and Sharing Center” option
Select the“Ethernet” network interface, as shown in the image below:
Select the“Properties” option.
Select“TCP/IP Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and then“Properties“.
Select “Use the following IP address” and fill in the IP, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway fields with the same information displayed in the “ipconfig” (used at the beginning of the tutorial). In “DNS server“, fill in the CloudFlare DNS (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1), as shown in the image below:
Simply click“OK” and your network adapter will be configured with a static IP.
