About Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS
Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS ("Bionic Beaver") was released in April 2018. Canonical's free standard security maintenance ended in May 2023: since then only machines with Ubuntu Pro get fixes — Canonical's service that extends LTS updates until 2028 (free for personal use on a few machines, paid for businesses, bought directly from Canonical and not included in the plan).
It stays available for systems that need exactly this release — legacy software, an installer that only certifies 18.04 or an environment you need to reproduce. For a new server, choose a supported LTS such as Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or 26.04 LTS.
At Master da Web it comes up like the other releases, with root access over SSH, public IPv4 and IPv6 and NVMe storage, configured by cloud-init on first boot. If it will face the internet, restrict ports with the panel's firewall and consider Ubuntu Pro.
