About Gitea
Gitea is a self-hosted Git service: repositories, pull requests, issues and a wiki in a web interface, with user accounts and organizations. It suits teams that want their code on a server of their own, without depending on a third-party service.
Here you get Gitea 1.27.3, in the official rootless image, with SQLite and HTTPS. Gitea's installation page never exists: the administrator (user admin) is created at install, with a generated password, and tested through the API before the site is public. Public sign-up is disabled, and public repositories remain readable without signing in. Git over SSH uses Gitea's built-in server, on port 2222, with public keys only.
Add your key under Settings > SSH / GPG Keys and create accounts in Site Administration; if you use a firewall, allow TCP port 2222. No CI runner is installed. Your own domain and backups (gitea dump) are yours to handle.

With your VPS
Your chosen image installed, the plan’s resources and a panel to manage the server. Administrative access is provided after provisioning.
Configure for your business
You receive the address, the admin user and the generated password by e-mail. Sign in, add your public key under Settings > SSH / GPG Keys and create the first repository. New accounts are created by the admin in Site Administration. With a firewall, allow TCP port 2222. Your own domain and backups (gitea dump) are yours to handle.
