How to size your project
We measured 2 GB in use at rest, with the ClamAV daemon, which alone takes about 1 GB: that is why the floor is 4 GB, and a 2 GB plan would live in swap. Use grows with domains, mailboxes and the spam and virus filter. Turning the antivirus off in the wizard frees memory; in production, 4 GB is the starting point.

About Virtualmin
Virtualmin is a hosting panel that works as a Webmin module: it creates virtual servers with a domain, site, mail, database and DNS and gives each domain owner their own access. The GPL edition is free; the features marked Pro need a paid licence.
At Master da Web, Virtualmin GPL 8.2 and Webmin come on Debian 13, installed by the project's own installer with its LAMP bundle: Apache with PHP-FPM, MariaDB, Postfix and Dovecot, BIND, ProFTPD, SpamAssassin and ClamAV, plus Usermin for mailbox users. Webmin opens over HTTPS on port 10000 and signs in as root, with the root password from the order.
The first sign-in opens the post-installation wizard, which asks about memory use, virus and spam filtering and the database. The installer sets up no firewall on the server: what listens is what Virtualmin runs, and fail2ban blocks repeated sign-ins. The certificate is self-signed until the name points to the IP.
