About openSUSE Leap 16.0
openSUSE Leap 16.0 is the stable, free Linux distribution of the openSUSE project, built from the same sources as SUSE Linux Enterprise 16. It combines the tested base of an enterprise distribution with the freedom of a community project: no subscription, no license and regular security updates.
Version 16 renews the whole system base: kernel 6.12, SELinux in enforcing mode by default and NetworkManager for networking. Packages are managed with zypper, one of the fastest and most predictable package managers in the Linux world, with access to the official openSUSE repositories.
At Master da Web, openSUSE Leap 16.0 is installed from the project's official image, updated on first boot and delivered with root access over SSH. It is the right choice if you already know the SUSE ecosystem, want an independent European alternative to the RHEL-derived distributions, or need a stable server for web, containers and automation.
