Web Master’s Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) functionality offers a new way of organizing and securing your virtual machines in the cloud. With VPC, you can create virtual private networks that allow your virtual machines to communicate in an isolated and secure way, without exposure to public internet traffic. Next, we’ll explore how this functionality can benefit your project and how to set it up.

What is a VPC and How Does It Work?

A VPC, or Virtual Private Cloud, is a virtual private network that you can set up to ensure secure and isolated communication between your virtual machines. With Web Master’s VPC, you have total control over the network architecture of your applications, being able to define how virtual machines interact and how data travels between them.

This functionality is ideal for companies and developers who need a private environment in the cloud, whether to meet security requirements, segment networks or improve application performance.

How to set up a VPC on the Web Master

Setting up a VPC in Web Master is simple and intuitive, with an interface that makes the process easy. Check out the instructions below to create your VPC.

Step 1: Accessing the VPC Screen

In the Web Master control panel, go to the network section and select “VPC” from the side menu. Here you’ll find all the VPCs already created, with details of the IP range assigned. See the image below:

To start configuring a new VPC, click on “Create VPC”.

Step 2: VPC configuration

When you click on “Create VPC”, you will see a window where you can customize the VPC according to your needs, as shown in the image below:

  1. Cluster: Choose the cluster in which the VPC will be configured. In the example, the “Brazil” cluster has been selected, ensuring that the virtual machines of this VPC will be located and communicate within this cluster.
  2. VPC name: Assign a name to your VPC to easily identify it, such as “My VPC 1”.
  3. Private IP Range Configuration: Choose between automatically generating a private IP range or manually defining the IP prefix. Automatic generation is recommended to simplify configuration and ensure a secure range.

After configuring these details, simply click on “Save changes” to create your VPC.

What You Can Do with the Web Master VPC

The VPC functionality offers a number of possibilities and benefits for Web Master users, including:

  • Security and Network Isolation: With VPC, you can isolate traffic between your virtual machines, keeping communication secure and away from the public internet. This is essential for applications that handle sensitive information and need an additional level of protection.
  • Network Customization and Control: The option to set the IP range manually allows you to configure the network in a customized way, adapting to the specific needs of your project. This is useful for environments with more complex network requirements.
  • Simple and Agile Configuration: The Web Master interface makes it easy to create and manage VPCs in just a few clicks. Even users without advanced networking experience can configure and manage their VPCs efficiently.
