In today’s tutorial we’ll teach you how to connect to your Windows VPS via RDP from your Android or IOS phone.
We’ll only show you the configuration process for the Android system, as the step-by-step process for the iOS application is very similar.
First, let’s install the Remote Desktop application on our cell phone.
After installation, open the application and press “+” and then “Add computer”.
This “Computer Detection” window may appear with a computer that is on the same local network as yours. Since we are going to set up a VPS, we need to click on “ADD MANUALLY”.
In this “Add computer manually” window there are settings for various demands that we may have when connecting to a computer, but we’re only going to focus on the “COMPUTER NAME” fields, which is where we’re going to put our IP or domain with the port (if you’re using the default port you don’t need to), and the “USER ACCOUNT” field, which is where we can configure a user beforehand, in which case I’ll leave it to you to ask when necessary, then we’ll press “SAVE”.
After saving, we’ll click on the computer we’ve just added to start the connection. If you don’t have a user account previously set up, it will ask you for a username and password.
If this window appears informing you that your computer’s certificate cannot be verified, check the box “Never request connections with this computer again” so that this window doesn’t appear for future connections, then click “CONNECT”.
That’s it, we can now access the VPS from our cell phone.
